Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > ADAS R&D Systems General Summary: Researches, designs, develops, and tests algorithms that enable autonomous and self-driving vehicles. Enhances multiple technologies including, camera perception; high precision localization; radar perception; lidar perception; precise sensor synchronization and calibration; multi-sensor fusion; estimation and tracking of static and dynamic objects in the environment; behavior prediction of agents; planning of autonomous vehicle decisions, trajectory and speed; autonomous vehicle control to achieve desired trajectory. Designs innovated AI algorithms for autonomous driving use cases and understands constraints for mapping to embedded ADAS hardware. Collaborates with multiple disciplines across Qualcomm to lead innovation across the industry. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Preferred Qualifications: PhD in electrical/computer engg or related field preferred Good at software development with excellent analytical, development, and problem solving skills. Hands-on experience with deep learning network design and implementation Coding Skills: Python, C/C++ Strong understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals Deep learning frameworks: Caffe, TensorFlow, Pytorch. Experience with CNNs, RNN/LSTM neural networks Industrial experience in machine learning, or multimedia areas, or Robotics, or AI. Experience in neural network quantization, compression, pruning algorithms. Experience implementing deep-learning algorithms in a high-level languages/packages (e.g. C++, Java, MATLAB, or Python) Experience in deep learning kernel/compiler optimization Strong communication skills Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Applies knowledge of ADAS Systems to assist in the development and enhancement technologies for camera perception; high precision localization; radar perception and lidar perception; precise sensor synchronization and calibration; multi-sensor fusion; estimation and tracking of static and dynamic objects in the environment; behavior prediction of agents; planning of autonomous vehicle decisions, trajectory and speed; and/or autonomous vehicle control. Assists with the research, design, development, and testing of systems that enable autonomous and self-driving vehicles; collaborates with SW and Test engineers for component and end to end testing. Networks with internal team members and leverages other resources to acquire knowledge of ADAS industry trends, and advances in the field. Writes technical documentation and descriptions of research findings for projects to ensure engineers can implement research.
